About

Join our 6-week pottery wheel throwing course and learn how to create your own ceramic pieces from start to finish. Held every Thursday, this hands-on course is ideal for complete beginners as well as those looking to refine their wheel throwing skills. Throughout the course, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the full process of working with clay on the wheel: • Centering clay and throwing a variety of forms • Shaping and refining your pieces • Trimming the base of your work for a clean, professional finish • Exploring surface decoration techniques and attaching handles to create functional forms like mugs and jugs • Applying glaze to your bisque-fired pieces • Understanding the full ceramic process, from wet clay to finished piece You’ll be able to keep up to 4 finished ceramic pieces, glazed and fired, included in the course price. If you’d like to keep more, extra pieces can be fired and glazed for £5 each. All materials and firings included - just bring your enthusiasm and clothes you don't mind getting messy! Tip: Keep your nails short - it makes working on the wheel much easier.
